How to process yam into powder?

Powdering yam is a step in yam processing. Before powdering, the yam must be dried. The moisture content of the dried yam should be around 10%. Yams can be dried in a mesh belt dryer or a heat pump drying room.

After drying, the yam enters the crushing stage. The crushing process consists of two steps: coarse crushing and fine crushing.

In the first step, the yam slices are placed in a coarse crusher for crushing. After crushing, the crushed yam is poured into a material basket. At this point, the crushed yam is roughly granular.

In the second step, the coarsely crushed yam granules are placed in a fine crusher for crushing. Use a plastic shovel to feed the material at a constant speed. Do not pour all the material in at once to avoid clogging the crusher.

After crushing, the fineness of the yam powder should be: 100-200 mesh, and the minimum should not be lower than 80 mesh. When finely crushing, check whether there are particles in the powder. If there are particles, it can be regarded as unqualified and cannot be used. If the material powder fineness is normal and there are no particles, it is regarded as qualified and can be used next time.
